CNC Programmer & Machinist

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas Service Company is looking for a CNC Programmer & Machinist reporting to Production Manager for a 12 month contract, based in BARROW-IN-FURNESS.

To program/set and operate CNC & Conventional Machines to produce high quality parts to engineering drawings.

* Minimum Qualification
Education: C & G Part 3 Craft certificate or ONC or equivalent.
Experience: Experience of working within a manufacturing/engineering background.

* Special Knowledge and Skills
Working with exotic materials

* Competencies to be kept Current
OFS QHSE Standards, QUEST training, SLP3, required vaccinations.

The following describes the main duties of the CNC Programmer & Precision Machinist 1, however there will be times when other special duties may be required to be undertaken.

A. People
* Liaises closely with all members of the product line teams.
* Works with personnel across departments as necessary to complete the assigned task correctly and on time.

B. Processes
* Manufacture all parts in accordance with instructions received from the Production Manager.
* Complete accurately and legibly, the appropriate records of process and batch of manufactured parts
* Safe Working Practice at all times
* Where necessary inform the Production Manager of any problems that arise.
* To make recommendations to the Production Manager regarding potential improvements to techniques, methods, processes/procedures and safety.
* Attend design reviews or production meetings as required.
* As part of the Product Line Team, responsible for delivering contracts on-time and within budget.
* To assist in the training of other staff, including trainees and apprentices where required.
* Deliver contracts on time and within budget.
* Enhancing customer satisfaction and wherever possible exceeding client expectations.
* Comply with all departmental and company procedures and work instructions.
* Participate in relevant training courses to become more familiar with products and testing methods.

C. Processes-QHSE
* Ensure machinery, equipment and tooling is kept clean and in good order at all times.
* Complies with the Diamould Swarf Prevention Plan at all times
* Maintain and store machinery, equipment and tooling in good, proper working order.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
* Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements of the Company and in Law in the execution of your duties and in attendance.
* Participate in risk assessments

* As part of the Product Line team, you are responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction and wherever possible exceeding client expectations.
